Improvement of the company’s performance depends directly on customers satisfaction with the services of goods transportation by sea as well as the fulfillment of obligatory rules and regulations of international and national standards concerning safety of vessels operation. Far Eastern Shipping Company PLC. proclaims the quality policy of its basic activity – sea shipments and establishes priority tasks of the Company: Permanent tendency to meet real and growing needs of Customers and prevent potential unconformity and claims at all stages of shipping; Control of safety at sea including safety of vessels, cargoes and property; Accident prevention, preservation of human health and lives; Environmental pollution protection; Prevention of property loss; Prevention of in-process and manufacturing losses; Competent and profitable fleet management of the company. To carry out indicated tasks, the Management of Far Eastern Shipping Company sets the following goal: to maintain and develop FESCO Quality Management System (FESCO QMS) for its accordance to obligatory Conventions, Codes, Regulations, Instructions and Standards which are recommended by proper International Organizations, Flag States, Classification Societies in interrelation with Systems of Safety Management and Occupational Health Protection (ISM Code and HSE); to apply process-oriented management for obtaining additional value of services to meet personnel needs, interests of shareholders and requirements of the company including: provide and improve safe working practices and a safe and secure working environment in ship operation; identify and assess potential risks and finding out ways of protection against them; emergency preparedness related to safe operation and protection of the environmental and prevention of property damage; employment of only qualified staff at the vessels of the company; the policy of attracting skilled personnel, planning their career promotion, retraining, training and labour motivation; the motivation of personnel commitment related to following International Standards of navigational safety, environmental protection, labour protection and requirements of the Quality Management System; maintenance of good external and technical condition of the Company’s vessel and their effective and proper operation, non-admission of substandard vessels to operation; development and implementation of advanced technologies to secure more effective and safe fleet control in view of QMS requirements; implementation and improvement of ways and methods of Measuring and analyses of rendering services to customers, applying obtained data to improve the quality of these services; orientation on mutually beneficial and interested cooperation with partners who secure safe and in-service state of vessels, proper competence of seamen and shore staff personnel, conformity of main support operating processes which influence a final quality of services; at that a system principle must be followed. The quality policy is obligatory for each staff member of FESCO at all levels of the company management.
